@MIT

Yesterday I took the 8 a.m. Chinatown bus from New York to Boston. Taking the Chinatown bus was a hint I got from Daniela - a colleague from UBS with whom I’ve met on Thursday evening. Compared to the Greyhound bus that saved me $17 and compared to the railway more than $40! Konstantinos - my tutor ar the MPI in Berlin - picked me up at Boston South Station an first showed me around at the MIT.

In the evening we took a one hour walk through Boston and went to an Ethiopian Restaurant. They served very good food and provided a nice experience. In this restaurant everybody was eating with their hands, so had we. Today and on Thursday we do some work to get done our paper that we started 2005 in Berlin together with Annika from Lund University in Sweden. Konstantinos described it like this: “… we will produce a first full draft and I think we can do it. Then we will refine and then we will submit and we will get famous.” Probably we won’t, but definitely we will be happy and dancing when the paper is finished and submitted!

Before, I had also the pleasure to skype with Ursina, having Konstantions’ office for myself. Finding that a quiet place was almost impossible in New York - so I enjoyed a lot, even though the connection brake down several times.

Tomorrow I will do some sightseeing on my own and Friday Konstantinos will show me Cap Cod, a nice place close to Boston. Until Friday I will also decide how to continue my journey. One option would be taking the bus to Montreal, another one taking the bus towards Toronto and visiting the Niagara Falls. That many options… I’m sure it will be amazing!

    Flo whats up?

    Bettina and I have enjoyed following your travels so far. I hope my fellow Americans aren´t treating you too poorly. If you get tha chance thy checking out a Boston Red Sox baseball game. It doesn´t get any more americain than that. The stadium is famous for the big green wall. Also see if you can run across a Boston Cream Pie…I also think they have good beer from boston, so I wouldn´t miss out on that…Na, take care and don´t get yourself into any trouble…

    To be honst, there’s no city I visisted so far, where I’ve met that friendly & helpful people as in New York and Boston! Here it’s also very easy to connect with other people. So the Americans are very hospitable!
